Email issues

Posted on March 29th, 2012

Good afternoon all,

MWEB is currently experiencing slow international browsing and email and this is unfortunately affecting us with regards to emailed queries and collections.

This means that we might not receive your emailed collection timeously before the collection cut off time. If you haven’t received your reference number within ten minutes of placing a collection, please contact our CSD department on (021) 528 1000 to ensure that your collection is placed.

Thank you for your patience. Updates will posted throughout the course of the day.

11:38am – Cape Town: Cape Town City Centre has now been blocked off. We will monitor during the course of the day and advise.

11:25am – Cape Town:  Gardens area has been closed off, therefore no deliveries will be done until further notice.

09:45am – Our Johannesburg office has reported no disruptions or intimidation but has warned that deliveries and collections in the City Centre will most likely not be an option today. Isando and Heidelburg Road have been earmarked as hotspot areas and we will be cautious while delivering. The Cape Town City Centre will have roads closed and we will update you during the course of the morning. Durban region is all clear but they are expecting the CBD to be a no go zone this afternoon. Port Elizabeth has no reports of any disruptions or intimidation.

COSATU intend to embark on a nationwide strike tomorrow, Wednesday 7th March 2012, against the implementation of tolling fees and the use of labour brokers.

At this stage we are unable to establish if any delays will be experienced, but will ensure regular updates throughout the course of the day tomorrow.
